Working with Prudential as IFRS 17 Project Manager means becoming a part of a prestigious global financial services group and an exciting vision: to be the leader in helping customers achieve their long-term financial goals. You will be the champion to work closely with relevant stakeholders within local business unit and regional office to implement IFRS 17 accounting standard at Prudential Vietnam Assurance Company Limited in Technical, System and Project workstreams. Scope of work includes drafting transition and implementation plan, identifying tasks in each workstreams, assigning tasks to relevant stakeholders, ensure all deadlines are met, liaison between Vietnam office and regional office, carry out finance system & process review, propose to-be process and automation tools to improve efficiency.
Key responsibilities
1. Drive project management effectiveness
- Ownership over project management related activities within the Project workstream
- Reporting on progress against plans and encouraging identification, management and escalation of project risks and issues
- Ensure adequate representation from relevant teams e.g. Actuarial / Finance etc. is present in the road test workshops and participate actively
- Overall delivery of the project on a timely basis with acceptable quality and within budget
- Prepare and monitor Project KPIs
- Ensure all deliverables are signed off by relevant person in charge
- Follow the Regional Deployment Approach and guidance / templates provided by PCA to produce bottom-up overall plan & budget
2. Act as representative of Finance department relevant workstream
- Provide local systems and process documentation e.g. local accounting rules / data flows in a timely manner
- Supervise and review detailed design of IFRS 17 financial statements and financial data requirements
- Interpret IFRS 17 requirements and regional office’s instructions for finance-related topics
- Identify changes to current Finance process to meet IFRS 17 requirements and agree with relevant Finance function leads on action plans
- Work closely with other workstream leads to identify impact of IFRS 17 to existing Finance system
- Identify and agree with management and other stakeholders on Finance systems gap assessment based on data requirements
- Supervise the implementation of IFRS 17 accounting system
3. Facilitate regional office in validating IFRS 17 requirements at local office
- Act as key contact point for IFRS 17 at local office when communicating with regional office
- Analyse guidance or questions from regional office, identify person in charge at local office
- Ensure all questions from regional office are addressed and answered on a timely basis with acceptable quality by relevant local stakeholders
- Liase between local office and regional office to ensure effective communication

- Ensure project deadlines are met and costs are within budget
- Cooperate and influence all stakeholders to deliver project with acceptable quality
Basic requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Finance or an equivalent degree
- At least 3 years of working experience in a role relating to IT or Accounting
- Good command of English
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and learning agility
Preferred requirements
- Professional qualification in Accounting or IT from a reputable body
- Demonstrated experience in Project Management
- Familiar with AS/400, IBM iSeries, SunSytems platforms
